Friend, It's Beginning

Dear Friend,

Our community needs to move forward with a leader who can deliver without drama. That's why I am pleased to announce that I am running for State Assembly in the 86th District because I have the experience and skills to be your voice in Albany.

I settled in our neighborhood 25 years ago, coming from the Dominican Republic to the West Bronx to realize the American Dream. I gained a passion for public service and community activism as I raised my four children here, standing up for working families and seniors whenever I could add my voice to improving our neighborhood.

Everyday, I work to save our money as part of our City's accounting staff. Now, in the State Assembly, I will work to deliver good paying local jobs, fully fund neighborhood schools and advocate for the additinon of new affordable housing and preserve the units we already have.

But I need your help right now.

Your early and continuing support is why we will win on September 10th and move our community forward.

Sincerely, your friend, Yudelka Tapia

About Border Health Mission to DR/Haiti

Manzanillo, Montecrisit, Haiti-Dominican Border, Dominican Republic
The Foundation “Health for All” is pleased to launch the 1st Border Health Mission (BHM) to the Dominican Republic. Established by local concerned health professionals in 1990, FUNTOSALUD (from its Spanish acronyms) is a humanitarian healthcare and aid provider in bateyes and the border town of Manzanillo, Montecristi province, in the Dominican Republic. Our foundation is cognizant of the multidisciplinary/multilingual team approach required for any successful mission, specifically a Border Health Mission (BHM), looking to socially impact the lives of the most economically disadvantaged community members. After 30 years working along the Haitian-Dominican border, we are convinced that this unique multi-disciplinary/cross-cultural approach is the most efficient modus operandi to improve the health of those who reside at the border and within the bateyes.
